Panelists: Jeanette Mayse PhD, Mandy Menzer, PsyD, Lianna Trubowitz, PsyD and Cat van der Westhuizen, MA, LPC, LMFT
Private practice can take many forms — and there are more options than we might imagine in choosing to pursue this career path. This panel brings together therapists who’ve built practices across diverse settings, spanning insurance-based and private-pay models, group and solo practices, and both telehealth and in-person care.
Panelists will share factors that shaped their career decisions, rewards and challenges they've encountered, and practical realities of day-to-day work. This panel is applicable to anyone starting out, currently in private practice, or considering a career pivot.
Learning Objectives:
- Be exposed to different career pathways in private practice
- Learn about options including private/group, in-person/remote, and insurance/private-pay.
- Gain insight into how these different pathways affect patient flow, retention, community, work/life balance, among many other factors
- Have opportunity to ask questions about details and nuts and bolts of different forms of private practice
The meeting will be offered both virtually and in person.
Virtual hosting will be done through Zoom.
The in person event will be held at The Carillon Restaurant, 1900 University Ave., Austin, Texas. The Carillon is located in the AT&T Conference Center.
